Pettingale Road is located a short distance away from Cwmbran Town Centre in the popular suburb of Croesyceiliog, in the county borough of Torfaen. It is a highly sought after area and when properties come on the market, they are snapped up swiftly because the area is an excellent place for families and couples alike.
The road itself is quiet and has no through traffic. The only cars found on the road are those belonging to the residents or those that are visiting the residents. It is not directly on a bus route, but it does have access to the Stagecoach No2 bus, which takes you to Cwmbran Bus Station in 18 minutes and Cwmbran Town Centre is a 30-minute walk away.
Good transport links are important these days as many families commute to work and Pettingale Road does not disappoint, as it is very close to the A4042, which will take you south to Newport and the M4 motorway or north to Abergavenny and the M50 motorway and the North of the UK.
The nearest train station is Cwmbran and it is 0.8 miles away. If you don’t fancy walking to the train station, they have ample parking!
The area is made up of a mixture of housing types including 31 Detached properties, 63 Semi-Detached properties and 32 Terraced properties. There are a high percentage of houses that are owned outright with no mortgage and there would appear to be more couples living on the street between the ages of 45 and 59 than younger age groups. Whilst preparing this blog, we were lucky to be able to interview one local resident who has not only set up home on Pettingale Road, but also runs his business from his property.
Dan Beckett who is the Managing Director of Crow Valley Accountancy has lived and worked from his address in Pettingale Road since 2014.
Dan states “We decided to buy a house to Pettingale Road for several reasons, but the main reason being that my wife was brought up in Croesyceiliog from a young girl and she knows the area very well. The house we chose is on a large plot and there is plenty of scope to extend and improve the house in time. We have good neighbours and the schools all have very good reputations, which is a bonus for us. There is no passing traffic on the street and we can always park our car”
